BioJoe Jimenez (a.k.a Muneco) was born on September 10th, 1980 in Calexico, CA. His family moved to the city of Fresno, CA when he was a young boy and this became the home of this young titan. Growing up in a gang affiliated neighborhood drugs and violence were an everyday occurrence. Boxing was a refuge to get off the streets and away from the gangs. By joining a local gym “Southeast Boxing club “, Muneco became a golden glove champ in his weight class and a two time Junior Olympic title winner with a record of 22 fights and 2 losses with 7 TKO’s. Then tragedy hit home when Muneco's grandmother passed away, and he drifted away from boxing and fell into the neighborhood violence. Family ties broke and Muneco became just another neighborhood thug. He lost 5 friends in only 8 years. These were the hardest times for Muneco and he became just another statistic in Fresno violence. He's thankful to be alive today. Muneco went to jail a couple of times, then woke up and found that he was the father to a baby girl named Alexus Jimenez and he blessed her with the middle name of her two grandmothers. With the birth of his child it inspired Muneco to change his way of life and he started to write music as a hobby, his lyrics came from his older brother who would rhyme but couldn’t stay up with the tempo. After playing in local clubs and house parties Muneco got involved in the music industry, and was approached by a representative of J’s Music and Entertainment at a local car show. Soon after that he was in one of the studios in Las Vegas, NV recording his demo. Soon after Muneco started the blueprint for his debut album , and began recording it in 2005 and was released to the public in 2006.
Muneco feels blessed for God putting him in this position to make music and give him a chance to recover and to do what he fell in love with: music. Look out for Muneco's album featuring Blaze 5, Black Dog, Magnum and Cupid. Out Now.
